The Bolton, Rosebank

The Bolton sits on Sturdee Avenue, in the middle of the most walkable stretch of Rosebank, and it is the apartment we send couples to.

Inside, it has been decorated rather than furnished. There is a fully equipped kitchen, a breakfast nook, and a lounge that opens onto it, so that cooking a meal together is something you do side by side rather than in separate rooms. The bedroom is en-suite with a double shower. The layout flows, which is a word that is used too easily and earns itself here.

Uncapped WiFi, Netflix, DStv and Amazon Prime are all included, along with a washing machine in the apartment for stays that run long.

The cinema

The building has a private cinema, and PKLV guests can book it. That is the whole feature. Choose a film, take a bowl of popcorn, and have the room to yourselves. Bookings are made through us in advance.

A swimming pool for the afternoons, a braai area for the evenings, a small set of gym equipment in the unit, a laundromat downstairs, and a backup generator that means load shedding does not reach you.

The location

Rosebank Mall is a minute’s walk. Keyes Art Mile, the art and dining precinct that Johannesburg’s creative scene revolves around, is 800 metres away. Between them sit the galleries, the restaurants and the rooftop market. It is, comfortably, one of the safest and most walkable parts of the city.
